On the occasion of its 50th birthday, the Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt is dedicating an exhibition to hip-hop that highlights the diversity and influence of this cultural movement. From its origins in the Bronx to global innovations in music, fashion and art.
The exhibition "THE CULTURE" shows over 100 works by internationally renowned artists, including Lauren Halsey, Julie Mehretu, Tschabalala Self and many more. The exhibition not only sheds light on the economic and social capital of hip-hop, but also on contemporary issues such as identity, racism and empowerment.
The exhibition was organized in collaboration with the Baltimore Museum of Art and the Saint Louis Art Museum and is an absolute must-see for anyone interested in art, music and cultural development.
