Die ACHT OHREN - four female citizens of the world from Hessen - set out in their new project in search of encounters with women in world music. In the most diverse musical traditions, women are sung about, played around, musically flattered, seduced, worshipped and themselves have their say or sound in rhythms, melodies and dances .
The journey goes from the Austrian Zwiefacher of the 44 Hens to dark and beautiful girls from the Balkans and Turkey, from women's dances from Armenia, a Klezmer duet

Also included - from the region (and the 16th and 17th centuries) - are Käthe and the Elslein..The pieces ring out in the idiosyncratic and stylistically diverse arrangements that are a key feature of the music of the EIGHT EARS.
