The Feast - Family and Other Evils

The respected, beloved and good-natured family man invites family and friends over for his 60th birthday. Birthday dinner to celebrate life and a little bit of himself too. They're all there. The cranky aunt, the opinionated grandfather, the nearly deaf and blind great-grandmother, the hippie uncle, the intellectual gay cousin, and assorted spoiled children. Ah yes, all of them! But when the eldest son raises his glass and reveals a long-kept secret about his father, the party is put to the test. Bitter truth threatens to affect the mood of the feast. But good company, they can take it, they don't let it spoil the fun. Together with the guests, the audience takes a seat at the big table of this very special family celebration. Sarah Kortmann (director) takes the motif of displacement from Thomas Vinterberg's film of the same name and counters the shocking revelation with a highly entertaining, lavish celebration.
