Despite all setbacks and disappointments, Amanda Wingfield does not give up her wishes and hopes. She can see the rosy future of her two grown children, Tom and Laura, ahead of her. But the two dream different dreams, have different aspirations. While Tom, who supports the family with his job in the shoe store, dreams of vastness, distance, wildness in his poems and craves for life, his sister Laura designs a mysterious art world for herself, the Glass Menagerie, a realm of magical attraction.
