"The Great Escape Room" on Frankfurt's Paulsplatz invites you to follow in Goethe's footsteps to Italy
From October 14-20, 2024, from 10.00-18.00 hrs
Frankfurt City Marketing, the Frankfurt Goethe House and the Frankfurt Book Fair today presented the campaign "The Great Escape Room - an inspiring time-out in the footsteps of Goethe's Italian Journey" on Frankfurt's Paulsplatz.
The Escape Room takes Italy, this year's Guest of Honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair, beyond the exhibition grounds and connects it with the biography of one of Frankfurt's most famous personalities: Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
In his famous travelogue, Goethe describes an impressive stay in Italy between September 1786 and May 1788. The event in Frankfurt city center gives Goethe's fascinating travelogue a contemporary dimension and creatively combines cultural history with modern storytelling.
The Escape Room gives an impression of Goethe's apartment in Via del Corso in Rome. Up to six participants per round (duration approx. 20 minutes) immerse themselves in the most important stages of the journey with the help of texts and pictures. By solving the puzzles and tasks, they playfully relive Goethe's journey to Italy. There is a total of 150 tickets to be won for the Sunday of the Frankfurt Book Fair (October 20, 2024) and for the Goethe House in Frankfurt. The winners will be drawn from among the participants. Each participant will also receive a small prize.
Book Fair visitors, literature enthusiasts and the Frankfurt public are invited to experience "The Great Escape Room". Anyone interested can take part in the escape room experience from now until October 20, from 10:00-18:00. No advance booking is required. Children can also take part if accompanied by an adult. Admission is free.
