For their first album the quintet from Helsinki has chosen a not necessarily easy material. 'Daughter' (release date: 21 Sep) highlights the story of a young boy growing up in the middle of nowhere in rural Finland during the 1990s Depression and now coming to the realisation that much of the depression in his youth was related to social problems: unemployment, general unrest, class differences, alcoholism and a downbeat mood within the community. A personal yet political album.
Although the anthemic rock of The Holy, which has already been compared to U2 in their homeland, sounds like the very big stadiums, they'll have to make do with the clubs on their tour schedule for now. But one thing is for sure: they will bring the clubs to rage with their two drummers and Eetu Henrik Iivari as singer, who has the appropriate vocal volume and an incomparable stage presence. Playing live is their number one priority!
