The music of the band The Homesick fits perfectly into the area where they come from: their hometown Dokkum lies somewhere lonely in the Frisian, cold nowhere. And that's how they sound: a bit undercooled and unapproachable. It is perhaps this loneliness in the north that drove the creativity of the three musicians, who were still very young at the time: in 2013 they created their first EP "Television". With that, they were recognized by Subroutine Records in a local talent contest and signed to the label with their first official EP "Twst Yr Wrst".
The Homesick started their first tour through the Netherlands when they weren't even old enough to order themselves a beer. At festivals like Incubate, Le Guess Who? and Here Comes The Summer they convinced with their intense and engaging live shows. So it wasn't long before they were talked about as one of the most promising underground acts in the country. They retreated to the cold north to work on the much-awaited new material. In 2017, the debut album "Youth Hunt" followed, also on Subroutine Records. The international press quickly took notice of the self-produced album full of noisy and experimental pop songs. They found great supporters of their music in the music blogs The Quietus, Drowned in Sound and Louder Than War.
