Frida wants to become a painter. Just like Mr. Hieronymus. Enthusiastically, she paints one picture after another. But all her paintings are grey. Just like the world she lives in.
One day Frida discovers the remnant of a gaudy paint in an old book. But Mr. Jerome takes the book away from her and forbids her to look for the colors.
But now Frida's curiosity is piqued and luckily the strange Vincent van Klecks appears! The master of colours! He knows how to bring them back to their world. With his help the pictures turn into gates that lead to distant lands. There, on the hunt for the lost colours, they meet the singing people in the land of the eternal sun, they free two royal children and drift in the vastness of the ocean in search of the true blue. Will they together succeed in bringing the colours back to their world, so that life becomes colourful and colourful again for everyone?
