Comedic monodrama by F. K. Waechter with Ulrike Kinbach and Martin Lejeune (double bass)
A co-production of the Fliegende Volksbühne Frankfurt with the Stalburg Theater
From the series Erzähltheater by Frankfurt author and cartoonist F. K. Waechter, "The Ice Princess" shows in grotesque fairy-tale manner the transformation of man through the power of love.
The Ice Princess is enthroned beautiful and cold on her mountain of ice. Inflamed with hot love, the Sicilian king approaches and courts her with all his might until she kills him. Then the devil's grandmother intervenes - as a wise string-puller - and gives the king a second chance. Disguised as a Sicilian girl, he once again approaches the woman of his dreams. With this ruse, he brings her down from her iceberg. Together they embark on a ship's voyage south. As the girls rock on the waves, the ice begins to melt.
Ulrike Kinbach playfully transforms into all the characters in this wonderful parable. Musically fueled by grandmother's grandson, she takes you on a poetic-frivolous journey to warm climes.
