The Joy Formidable is a Welsh alternative rock band formed in 2007 in North Wales and now based in London. The band consists of Rhiannon "Ritzy" Bryan (lead vocalist, guitar), Rhydian Dafydd (bass, vocals) and Matthew James Thomas (drums, percussion).
The Joy Formidable have continued to rise to every challenge to this day, as evidenced by support shows for legendary artists such as Sir Paul McCartney, Foo Fighters and The Black Keys, among others.
Once described by Rolling Stone as "wickedly bracing and Himalaya-huge", the stunning live band has overcome the difficult hurdle of transferring their stage energy and ability to connect with the audience into their recordings.
