The Legendary Pink Dots have released more than 40 albums since 1980 and they defy any classification. Bizarre, avant-garde sound collages dominate, but they can also take the form of catchy earworms. Comparisons have been made with Syd Barrett and Pink Floyd (especially with regard to the lyrics), but also Brian Eno and the Krautrock around Can, Neu! And Kraftwerk are mentioned from time to time. LPD's style has differentiated and varied over the decades, but has remained distinctive.
