Romantic love drama with opera music by Antonín Dvořák
According to the motifs of H. Ch. Andersen, adapted for Black Theatre
In colorful pictures the opera "The Little Mermaid Rusalka" is performed, accompanied by the beautiful music of the famous Czech composer Antonín Dvořák.
Rusalka, the youngest and dearest daughter of the old water sprite, confesses to her father that she loves a prince. For his sake, she now wishes to become human. The witch Jezibaba fulfils Rusalka's wish, but demands that she remain mute for the humans. Rusalka agrees to the deal and finally meets her prince. Shortly before the wedding, however, the prince becomes uncertain. For Rusalka, this seems to be the end...
Skillfully combining black theatre with pantomime, masquerade and puppetry, this production is a delight to watch.
