An impressive Santana show and an energetic journey through the hits of the Latin American guitarist, that's The Magic of Santana. Together with the original singer Alex Ligertwood - and/or also with Tony Lindsay - the Hamburg musicians offer an unforgettable experience.
Vibrant, danceable rhythms, and a guitar tone that gets under your skin, they even surpass the original. It all started with a shared vision - that vision of passing on the musical spirit that Carlos Santana has been captivating audiences with since Woodstock. He is one of the few musicians with over five decades of current hits to his credit. His music crosses genres with elements of rock, blues, jazz, funk, Latin rhythms and other influences. He created a magical music that continues to intoxicate generations of fans worldwide. So did Gerd Schlüter, guitarist and one of the founders of The Magic of Santana, who became involved with the music and the person Carlos Santana at a young age. This went so far that Gerd even met Carlos and his band in the USA and keeps in touch until today. The Hamburg musicians of "The Magic of Santana" have years of band experience in various genres. The unmistakable guitar tone of Carlos Santana is authentically presented by Gerd Schlüter. A perfect complement is keyboardist Jens Skwirblies, who was also influenced by Santana's music in his earliest youth.
Pulsating percussion is an essential element of the Santana sound. The three percussionists Andreas Rohde with timbales and vocals, Jürgen Pfitzinger and Pablo Escayola on congas and bongos provide the typical Santana Latin feeling. The groove of the band is created by Oliver Steinwede and bassist Martin Hohmeier. Singer Tom Friedländer and Oliver Schröder, who also supports the band with his unmistakable guitar sound, are responsible for the vocals on The Magic of Santana. Besides Alex Ligertwood and Tony Lindsay who regularly thrill audiences with the band, other current as well as former Santana musicians such as Richard Baker, Dave Matthews and Bill Ortiz enjoy playing with this authentic and professional band.
The Magic Of Santana performs Santana highlights spanning 40 years - many tracks from legendary albums such as "Abraxas," "Santana III," "Moonflower," "Marathon," and "ZEBOP!" This evening will be "Supernatural!"
