Once upon a time there was a boat that sailed across the sea, but really it wanted's to go to the moon, nothing it wished for more .
A boat dances with a fish, talks to the stars, plays with a pelican, listens to a whale. It wants to know how to do it, to lift off from sea level and float up into the sky, to get to the moon, which can cradle it. But the moon is far away, and the boat cannot fly. Yet it tries again and again. And the moon loves those who dream. So one night that encounter becomes reality. The moon descends from the sky and cradles the boat.
"The Moon and the Boat" is a story about the power of wishing, about setting out, meeting, and learning about new things. A childish boat sets out with curious eyes; an adult moon is ready to leave its sky, pay attention to the boat, and cradle it.
