The National have been critically acclaimed since the beginning of their career, however it wasn't until their latest album, Sleep Well Beast, that all-encompassing fame set in. The band, led by singer Matt Berninger and two pairs of brothers Aaron Dessner (guitar, bass, piano) & Bryce Dessner (guitar) and Scott Devendorf (bass, guitar) & Bryan Devendorf (drums), for example, won a Grammy in the "Best Alternative Music Album" category last year.
Since the release of their seventh studio album, the band has been on the road most of the time - festival and arena shows around the world have been part of their agenda for some time. Even former US President Barack Obama publicly outed himself as a fan, even using a song by the indie rockers in his election campaign.
