Afterwards around 21:00 in the foyer level 2:
At the bar with Jordi Savall and Juri de Marco, Artistic Director of the Stegreif.orchestra
Moderation: Konrad Kuhn
Duration approx. 30 minutes
For Jordi Savall it is clear: "If for Beethoven music is a mediator between mind and senses, the 'Eroica' represents far more than a personal homage: It is above all an inner drama and a sublimation of mythological and revolutionary models. Its magnificent structure, its dramatic and powerful style, as well as its astonishing and innovative development, make it doubly revolutionary." The Catalan has been intensively involved with Beethoven's music for decades - his recording of the "Eroica" from 1994, for example, is still considered a reference. Nevertheless, Savall is currently planning a new complete recording of all nine Beethoven symphonies together with his ensemble "Le Concert des Nations". In doing so, Savall follows in his proven manner not only the current state of research, but also his many years of practical experience, and all this with the aim of creating a sound as historically authentic as possible.
