Whether monumental, humorous or philosophical - the three-day film series of the Nibelungen Festival is all about the Nibelungen in film. The focus is Fritz Lang's film The Nibelungs, whose two parts "Siegfried" and "Kriemhild's Revenge" will be shown on two evenings. The silent film classic from the 1920s will be accompanied live by pianist Uwe Oberg. The short film Guts & Guns is a special project of the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg. The film tells the story of Hagen von Tronje as the long-time security officer of the arms conglomerate Burgund Holding, who engages in a bloody power struggle with Kriemhild and Siegfried over the company. In the Fritz Lang-inspired silent film The Nibelungs by the renowned New York performance duo Nature Theater of Oklahoma, Kelly Copper and Pavol Liška filmed their own personal version of the Song of the Nibelungs on a three-week bicycle tour through ten communities in and around the Odenwald.
