For the third time, under the overall organizational and artistic direction of Theater Willy Praml, the biennial festival will take place in the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley, this time in the towns of Bacharach, Kaub, Lorch, Niederheimbach and Oberwesel. Theater Willy Praml is once again showing its legendary Heine project "Der Rabbi von Bacharach" from 2013, as well as "Lenz" by Georg Büchner and "Die schöne Müllerin" by Schubert. The Freie Schauspiel Ensemble Frankfurt is participating with the production "Kein Ort. Nirgends" by Christa Wolf and the Fliegende Volksbühne Frankfurt enriches the program with "Der goldene Topf" by E.T.A. Hoffmann.

The Rabbi of Bacharach
.Heinrich Heine - the German and Jewish poet of European stature, the Romantic and the opponent of Romanticism rolled into one - in tow, they set out to explore the medieval town of Bacharach on foot. Heine's tale "The Rabbi of Bacharach" is the central thread of the theatrical itinerary and is flanked by other texts and text fragments that revolve around the life of a convinced European of the first order.
