The Rasmus play second part of their Germany tour
In October the new album of The Rasmus was finally released and long awaited. Finland's Finest had taken five years for "Dark Matter". On the one hand, of course, to do what is actually most important to them: to play as many concerts as possible, on the other hand, the Scandinavians simply needed a break after the release of the last, self-titled album and several tours around the world, not least to hone their new sound. The band around frontman Lauri Ylönen has changed with each of their nine studio albums. The gold- and platinum-awarded alternative rockers have always been on the lookout for new musical influences and possibilities of expression, for new sound possibilities and style combinations, which are always held together by Ylönen's distinctive and absolutely recognizable voice. This has not changed with "Dark Matter". How strong The Rasmus still are on stage, they just proved again during the first part of their tour. Already during the opener "F-F-F-Falling" from the album "Into" it seemed as if time stood still, and also the second track "Guilty" from the hit record "Dead Letters" showed Ylönen and his comrades-in-arms guitarist Pauli Rantasalmi, bassist Eero Heinonen and drummer Aki Hakala in absolute top form. In the set, old hits and new songs alternated perfectly to end the concert on a rapturous note with the Signifying uber-hit "In the Shadows". Or as konzert-nerd.de summed up the Cologne concert, "They can still do it!" No wonder, with their huge repertoire of bomb songs. There's more of that to come, as The Rasmus have just confirmed the second leg of their so successful sold-out tour: Next autumn, the Finns will come to Germany for six more shows.
