The Real McKenzies get together in 1992 - after founder and frontman Paul McKenzie allegedly had a divine vision. The reason: He hears an Andy Stewart record and a Sex Pistols record at the same time! Tada - The Real McKenzies were born. The Real McKenzies skilfully combine anthemic street punk with elements of Scottish folk music and are thus reminiscent of their US-Irish colleagues Dropkick Murphys, not by chance, but have already entered the race with this concise style a few years earlier. Extremely sing-along songs with the typical atmospheric bagpipe melodies quickly brought the band a worldwide loyal fanbase, after almost a dozen albums and numerous international tours the Real McKenzies are one of the most important bands of the folk-punk genre. In 2017, the band celebrated their 25th anniversary, but they are far from tired! In 2018 their Never Ending Tour continues and of course takes them to Europe again!
