Danish band The Rumour Said Fire managed to do what so many young bands wish they could do: they landed a huge hit with "The Balcony," and only a few months after they formed. Usually bands spend their early days in small smoky clubs playing for the hat, living hand to mouth. For The Rumour Said Fire, things went high after the release of their debut EP "The Life and Death of a Male Body", the single now has over three million clicks on Spotify. Every band's dream seems to be fulfilled with this, however the band's huge success went a bit too fast for the guys, so they decided to take a break after their second studio album in 2013.
"We had gone full speed since 2009. As a songwriter, I have an inner turmoil, and it probably means I can be a bit difficult to work with. We need to breathe and find each other again as a band."- says singer-songwriter Jesper Lidang.
Now The Rumor Said Fire are back with their third studio album "Crush", in record stores on April 28, 2017. For this, the band sat down in a studio in Malmö and worked together on the songs with Jesper Lidang's lyrics. They are about cohesion, the ups and downs in life and constantly getting back up again. Musically, the new album can be classified between Fleetwood Mac and the familiar 80s sound, where cosy pop sound meets a soft, warm singing voice.
