Longing, failing and moving on - this is what drives the four guys of THE SECLUDED artistically since the band was founded in 2012. The four musicians constantly find new variations of this triad, both musically and lyrically: sometimes euphoric, sometimes melancholic, sometimes disturbing, sometimes astonishingly direct, their songs present themselves. These also convinced the renowned Berlin label MOTOR: In autumn 2013, the band signed a record deal there. The ambitious longplayer was released in August 2014.
Influences of bands like Muse, Dredg, Coldplay and Radiohead are reflected in their sound as well as surprising set pieces of surf, reggae and flamenco. THE SECLUDED are not a band where every song sounds the same: every song follows its own logic, and so song structures, instrumentation and moods vary from track to track. Melodic, varied guitars are in dialogue with the distinctive voice of singer Miro Kania, whose lyrics deal with the interpersonal and personal shallows that life in all its facets brings. Kania avoids giving simple answers; rather he faces up to the multi-perspectivity of existence in his lyrics and explores the possibilities of individual freedom, which occasionally challenge us and demand everything of us, but which we still don't want to do without for that reason. Not least the sometimes filigree, sometimes hard guitars and the precisely fitting rhythm work show a band that has absorbed the musical traditions of the 20th century and woven them into a sound tapestry with which it is still possible to stand out excellently in the new millennium. THE SECLUDED are one of the few German bands who know how to let go at the right moment and give themselves completely to the sound and the song. The Hessians were able to successfully prove this on their first German tour in the summer of 2014.
