The stock exchange in Frankfurt has existed for over 400 years. During this time, it has always been a place devoid of reason. War loans and bubbles of speculation were as much a part of its everyday life as the hollowness and irrational complacency of its representatives.
Therefore, it is not surprising, rather compelling and logical, that artists cut through this bizarre make-believe world with wit and reason.
The witnesses are Georg Philipp Telemann (1681-1767) and Michael Sell (1942). Telemann, whose composition la Bourse was the first to analyse with relish and document musically a stock market crash (Missisippi Company 1720); Sell, who makes modern puppets of self-inflicted dilettantism and underdeveloped insight perform in Telemann's artfully transformed cantilenas.

Hölderlin Trio:
Paul Huebner - Trumpets
Annegret Mayer-Lindenberg - viola
Yuka Ohta - percussion
Michel Sell - Composer, Conductor
