In the new production of this political comic comedy by the Wu Wei Theater Frankfurt, ANDREAS WELLANO...who dances with the tiger, sparks a brilliant, comedic and virtuoso role play. Pure theatre - theatre of the imagination in an empty space. "with incomparable comedy, power of words and gestures Andreas Wellano plays the ironic story of a failed Chinese revolutionary fighter who meets a tigress, ".the audience laughs tears, the victory of theatre over comedy", once said the Westfalen Blatt.

Dario Fo himself sat in the front row of a Munich festival performance of ANDREAS WELLANO; because of a performance commitment of his own, he only wanted to experience 15 minutes, but enjoyed himself so deliciously that he stayed until the end and almost missed his own performance over it.

Dario Fo's laudatory comment, "This piece is like an orchestral score. There are andantes, adagios, poco pesantes and fortissimi. And you are the conductor and musician at the same time."

It's a story about struggle and solidarity, revolution and love, nature and civilization. This rousing encounter of the comedic kind was penned by Dario Fo (German by Renate Häfner-Chotjewitz); "THE STORY OF A TIGER" is a Chinese folktale about a soldier who marched with Mao Tse Tung's revolutionary forces. He is seriously wounded during an attack by counter-revolutionaries and, dying, seeks shelter in a rocky cave. There he meets a tigress..In China they say of a woman, a man, a people "they have the tiger" when they fight and resist in a hopeless situation where all others resign.
