Curtain up, stage free, a house formed out of moving boxes. Inside Agnes. Agnes stands in the house of her late parents. This is where she grew up, this is where her father and mother lived for 60 years - now it needs to be cleared. Where do you start? In the basement or the cluttered attic? There seems to be so much life still attached to each item, a familiar smell or story! Keep it? Give it away? Sell it? Throw away? Memories of family and her own childhood leap out of drawers and closets. Agnes stumbles across letters and diaries that weren't meant for her. What's left of life can all go, a decluttering professional had advised her. If only it were that simple... What constitutes a life? How is it put together? Agnes stands in her late parents' house. Alone, when in fact they are four sisters. But the others have long since scattered to the four winds: Dallas, Hanoi, the Philippines, all in executive positions, all incredibly busy. Only Agnes, a freelance actress, has stayed in Germany, so she is supposed to - you really have all the time in the world! - to break up the parental household. This is where the sisters grew up, where the parents lived for decades. And now, practical guidebook for successful household liquidation in hand, she stands before the remnants of this family history and is supposed to sort, decide, throw away. A good list makes everything easy, her sister Bärbel has advised her. But how does the cuddly crack in her parents' bed fit on a list? The smell of mother's self-made dressing gown? The bookshelf in front of which her mother abruptly asked ten-year-old Agnes who she wanted to stay with in the event of a divorce (which was then never spoken of again)? Forgotten moments and feelings rise from the things of her parents - but the container for the removal is already at the door. Gilla Cremer, fourth of five sisters, was born in 1956. After graduating from high school, she went to America for two years, then to Indonesia for a year, where she learned a variety of things, including modern dance, mask carving and kung fu. After that she was an acting student at the International School for Theatre Anthropology in Bonn, made stops in Volterra, Hostlebro and Bologna, before finally becoming a solo performer in 1987. Since then, her plays have delighted audiences and professionals alike across the country, and the unanimous verdict is: a fabulous woman, a godsend for the stage.
