FRAU RUTH - German-language indie ampersand punk.
Frau Ruth is a collective of dreamy school truants & peeping into the air. A small band from 069. With the idea to do something different and a lot of dreams in their luggage they set out to explain to all the yuppie kids what punkrock means. "What is important in this band is the message behind the German lyrics of singer Mo, whose vocal power is a mix of ex- Jupiter Jones singer Nicolas Müller and rapper Casper." - writes Frizz Magazine in March 2017.

MAIKE ROSA VOGEL - Folk-Music
Maike Rosa Vogel grew up in a left-wing household in Frankfurt am Main. She owes her middle name to Rosa Luxemburg. Her parents mainly listened to classical music and songs of the political movement, for example Wolf Biermann or the Butterflies. She herself describes Tocotronic, Björk and Sinéad O'Connor as her biggest influences, but above all she attaches importance to the lived punk attitude. She usually accompanies herself with the acoustic guitar, but is less interested in the determination of certain musical styles, but sees herself as a representative of the punk attitude, according to which it is more important that you say something, than how you say it. On the albums her songs are also accompanied by piano, harmonica and strings. Her lyrics deal with both personal and political issues. In 2015, her album Trotzdem gut was released, the first time it was distributed exclusively by her, produced by herself and Sven Regener. 2017 saw the release of her album Alles was ich will produced and distributed by herself.

KOKONINO KOUNTY - a mix of progressive, jazz ampersandpsychedelic music A mix of progressive, jazz ampersand psychedelic music. What happens when a comic book artist, a farrier, a
filmmaker and a jazz musician get together? Then you're quickly in Kokonino Kounty, a bizarre dream world adapted from the cult comic "Krazy Kat". In keeping with the surrealistic absurdity of the role model, the four musicians from Frankfurt also create musical landscapes and create a timeless individual sound that unpredictably combines progressive rock, jazz and psychedelic elements in a tongue-in-cheek lightness.

THE EARHART LIGHT - fragmentary, lyrical lyrics, electro, indie, pop
With winter out this time and the spring guillotine taking care of the rest, hormonal balance and lovers of seasonal utility music are showing up as confused as they are enraptured. The official climate/emotional disaster soundtrack for lovers and the lost is appropriately delivered by The Earhart Light with "Summer's Over." What the band around Cashma-Hoody bassist Stefan Wißmann delivers in word and sound on album length shows the highest musical class and is currently unparalleled in the overall field of German-language music as well as in the electronically tuned indie sector. Music that is equally suitable for despair as for kissing. Campfire music in the best sense. And if you stay at home, you can always go change your state of aggregation to the video of "Ich sage dir". (Roman Sobota May 2014)

YVONNE MWALE - Afro-jazz, blues, soul, world music
May the integration succeed! Yvonne Mwale and band are already miles ahead and show what great synergies a coexistence of cultures can set free. With her latest album "Ninkale - Let me be" - recorded in the renowned Frankfurt studio "Art of June"- she has thoroughly shaken up the world music scene. Born in the tribal area of the Nsenga in South African Zambia, she was already enthusiastic about singing at the age of six. Obviously she feels comfortable like a fish in water; she possesses a gifted voice of extraordinary power and purity. Her great compositions fuse the music of the African continent with the stylistic elements of jazz and blues of the western world. Less pop, but more oriented towards the sounds of her homeland. Music to dance to, but also deeply touching. Yvonne sings mainly in her native language Nsenga and also in English. Yvonne has been living with her family near Limburg for several years and has been able to win renowned musicians from the Rhine-Main region for her project: percussionist Mohamed Twaba from Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) and guitarist Tillmann Höhn (Wiesbaden). On the VirusMusikRadio show, the artist can be experienced accompanied by her trio.

LADY MOUSTACHE
The band presents their rocking songs unplugged. A rock band like Lady Moustache in the continental European heyday of colourful electropop and melancholic singer-songwriter music may seem out of time - or, for that very reason, refreshing again: This is as little about self-promotion and delusions of grandeur as it is about fashion conformity. Horst Roxel (Vocals, Guitar), Steffen Wolf (Guitar) Hagen Pommerson (Bass) and Wayne Henner (Drums) disturb with their rough and energetic songs the surface in which one only likes to be reflected in order to look at oneself in a beautiful light. The tracks sometimes make room for the less virtuous things, which rather have a shadowy existence in the everyday thicket and yet are a part of us and burn under the nails. With his expressive voice Roxel reports without shyness and self-pity about fears, self-doubt and loss of control, which together with the organic interplay of the instruments bursts out - and awakens hope. Authentic, changeable, dynamic and ambivalent like life itself, if you can let it be. Whether you want to call it anachronistic or timeless is and remains a matter of opinion.

MAKIA Reggae - Latin, Rock, Soul & Funk
Makia brings a breath of fresh air to the multicultural music scene. In a short time, the band developed an extraordinary and explosive fusion of rhythms such as reggae, funk, soul, rock, cumbia and hip-hop. With their impressive performance, they manage to captivate fans of all musical genres. Makia formed in Friedberg at the beginning of 2014. In the beginning, they played at regionally known events, but quickly expanded their newcomer status to a national level. What the guys put on can best be described in three words: Fire, Temperament and Heart. They skillfully transfer this to their audience. Through their lyrics, they criticize corruption, capitalism, xenophobia, and tackle issues such as conservation of nature and peace.
