The girl Dorothee is carried by a whirlwind into an adventurous dreamland. On her way to meet the mighty Wizard of Oz, she encounters the Scarecrow with no brain, the Tin Man with no heart, and the Lion with no courage. In the Emerald City, the four of them receive an order from the Wizard to steal the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West. Their reward is courage, a heart, wits, and a return home.
On their fairy-tale journey, Dorothee and her companions then learn that you must trust in your own abilities and that difficult tasks are best solved together.
Who doesn't know it, the story of the young girl from Kansas by Frank L. Baum, which was published in 1900 and became a worldwide success. The first stage adaptation of the story was made as early as 1902, and then it achieved world fame at the latest in 1939 through the Hollywood film starring Judy Garland as Dorothy. Even today, "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" is one of the most widely read children's books.
