The Women of the Sea

Even the sea can be a home. Berlin's RambaZamba Theater comes to Mainz with a world premiere: The Women of the Sea by award-winning playwright Olga Bach. Henrik Ibsen's play The Women from the Sea was about Ellida, who is trapped in marriage. In Bach's play, the women of the next generation are quite a bit more headstrong, more independent. They are all driven by the question of a self-determined life. In the process, the levels between life and death, desire and reality, end and infinity intermingle. A play between soap opera, drama and ghost play. Director Lilja Rupprecht, who directs in Berlin at the Deutsches Theater, Schauspiel Köln, Volkstheater Munich and Stuttgart, has created an atmospheric evening with the RambaZamba stars and Angela Winkler as guest, which will now be seen for the first time outside Berlin. rambazamba-theater.en
