Bob is busy tending his rose garden and his wife Fran is about to leave for work when suddenly Rosie appears in the doorway. The 19-year-old nestling has ended her trip around the world early because she was heartbroken, and so the family, consisting of her parents and three other siblings, comes together ...
In Things I Know For Sure, the audience watches a classic family over the course of a year.
It watches Fran struggle to keep her loved ones together. But the harder she tries to maintain a close relationship with her children, the further they seem to drift away from her.
They do end up going their own ways, even if it means losing the acceptance of their parents.
Award-winning Australian author Andrew Bovell has written a gripping drama about what keeps parents and their adult children together and what keeps them apart.
