East Berlin 1989. In a basement rehearses Die Seuche, a band that has big plans. Their only fan is also their manager. Äppstiehn does what he can - and that's not much. Die Seuche plays at family parties and birthday celebrations and gets involved in car rackets on the outskirts of the Prague embassy. But against the turn of events even Äppstiehn is powerless. Suddenly music no longer plays a role. But is that even possible?
Thomas Brussig's warm-hearted homage to the music of an era tells with wit and lightness what it is like when something comes to an end and something begins at the same time.
