Like no other acting director in Germany, Thorsten Lensing has made virtuoso use of the scope offered to theatre between state and municipal theatres and independent production structures. Lensing's works are based on works of world literature, which he always adapts for the stage with top-class ensembles. In his adaptation of Dostoevsky's thousand-page novel The Brothers Karamazov, it is the youngest generation through whose perspective Lensing creates access to the sprawling narrative web about the three brothers and their father, about children, animals and a murder.
Thorsten Lensing is a freelance director, founded Theater T1 in 1994 and has repeatedly won renowned actors and various cooperation partners for his productions, which have been invited several times to the IMPULSE theatre festival and the Akzente festival in Duisberg. For the production Karamasow Thorsten Lensing was awarded the Friedrich-Luft-Preis 2014.
