People and their concepts: some you have to love, others deserve a kick in the shins. Some, after all, still think the elevator will come faster if you press the button several times while swearing. Others think that cars with fish stickers on the back are driven by people who work at the fast food chain Nordsee. Still others think the antiquarian bookstore is the opposite of the proquariat. These are all prejudiced constructs that desperately need to be reconsidered. Lest it rain in.
Tilman Birr reads, talks and sings about them. Kindly but firmly. He has nothing against people, but. well, everyone has to know for himself. He has been performing on stages with lyrics and music for what feels like 100 years, his 2012 comic episodic novel "On se left you see se Siegessäule" has sold over 30,000 copies. In 2013 he was awarded the Förderpreis des Deutschen Kabarettpreises. With what? With good reason. One thing, however, is certain: ALL my ducklings swim on the lake. That's not a prejudice, that's just a fact.
But seriously now: is Birr actually a cabaret artist, poetry slammer, songwriter, reader or city guide? Did he also learn something real? Where does he get his ideas from and can he live from it? Birr has a very clear answer to these questions: Deine Mudder!
