Tony Rizzi, a long-time dancer with the Ballet Frankfurt and the Forsythe Company as well as a choreographer for renowned companies, including the Bavarian State Ballet, the Pennsylvania Ballet, the Royal Ballet of London, is also a frequent creator of rousing, whimsical performances for his company Bad Habits and returns to the Mousonturm with a new production. Inspired by a trip to Kyoto with artist friend Penny Arcade, he explores man's connection to nature, expressed in the Japanese concept of kami. Kami refers to gods, nature spirits or the souls of the departed, but also to natural phenomena that evoke an intense emotional response such as awe or wonder. The idea of constant growth and perpetual movement in nature, and thus in ourselves, is as much a subject of the new work as birth, death, and non-being. The never ending energy flow of dance leads us to the right place to enjoy death as much as life. Let the party begin!
