After making a splash in 2015 with various festival appearances in Europe as well - Glastonbury was just as much on the agenda as the Reeperbahn Festival here in Germany, for example - Tora from Byron Bay are now waiting in the wings with their official debut album "Take A Rest", which also features the recently released advance single "Amsterdam". Their sound, oscillating between electronica, chillwave and laid-back pop, has often been compared to acts such as SOHN, Toro Y Moi, Radiohead or James Blake - yet the five Australians sound more optimistic and danceable on album length than on their most recent acclaimed EPs. Celebrated from triple j to The Line of Best Fit, from Indie Shuffle to The Sound You Need, Tora have made an extreme impact in a very short space of time: formed in 2013, their sound combines layered, haunting electronica productions with extremely emotive vocals - no wonder acts such as SOHN, Radiohead and James Blake have been frequently called upon for comparisons. Their eponymous EP, released back in October of their inaugural year, has since been followed by 2014's hype machine hit "Overcome" (#7 Hype Machine) and the successful "Eat The Sun" EP, among others. The remix of her song "Jaigantic", crafted by LA producer Galimatias, has since racked up more than 10 million streams alone. Her acclaimed live shows, in particular, have recently garnered Tora a rapidly growing fanbase.
