On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the "Society of Botanical Artists", the exhibition is dedicated to the tradition of botanical painting since the 16th century. When plant hunters and collectors around the world were searching for new exotic plants, they often could only bring back drawings of their discoveries due to lack of transportation. Today, long journeys are no longer necessary to find specimens of botanical exotics. Many can be found at the Palmengarten, for example.
