"This is on the one hand hilarious and on the other quite enlightening, yet." Writes Georg Seeßlen about Nicolas Mahler's latest work. Mahler, born in Vienna in 1969, still lives there. No education, no second home. The comics of the draughtsman, illustrator, lyricist are called, for example, "Party Fun with Kant" and "Flaschko, the Man in the Electric Blanket". He has drawn graphic novels for Thomas Bernhard's "Old Masters" and Musil's "Man without Qualities". Now "Das kleine Einschlafbuch für Große" has been published by Suhrkamp Verlag. With minimal lines and linguistic precision, he comments on phrases of the bourgeois milieu and its sensitivities. Introducing Mahler and accompanying him through what is sure not to be a soporific evening will be comics connoisseur Jakob Hoffmann.
