Dilsad grows up in Germany. As an adult, she returns to Turkey for love - the country from which she and her parents were expelled. On her wedding day, Dilsad questions how social circumstances in both countries have made her who she is. She analyzes in a humorous and thoughtful way the clichés and alienations of both cultures and her own search for identity between two countries in the midst of different cultural currents. "Türkland" is a production of the Istanbul theatre "Entropi Sahne" in cooperation with the cultural platform" Maviblau". The multimedia reading performance is based on the autobiographical work of actress Dilsad Budak-Sanoglu and deals with topics such as migration, identity and German-Turkish history and relations. The performance will take place in German and Turkish with Turkish and German surtitles. About the theater group: "Entropi Sahne" was founded in 2016 by actor and director Yurdaer Okur as an independent theater in Istanbul/Kadiköy and promotes interdisciplinary projects to discover new types of theater. Especially within the Entropi Studio project, young theatre makers have the opportunity to write, develop and perform their own plays. Türkland is one of these plays. In cooperation with Maviblau, Türkland will now be performed in Germany (touring from 20.9.-10.10.) and Turkey to intensify the dialogue in the field of identity, migration and German-Turkish relations.
