Between 68 and German Autumn
The author Ulla Hahn expands her largely autobiographical work of reference with a fourth novel in the tetralogy. In "We are expected" she tells again about Hilla Palm, published by DVA. The world is open to her. The end of the sixties. After a long search, the girl from a simple home has finally found her home: in literature and in Hugo, the man who accepts Hilla with all her bitter experiences. Together they discover love and experience the '68s, when everything seems possible. But then fate thwarts their plans, and Hilla desperately seeks support from people who are fighting for a more peaceful, just world. The Marxist worldview becomes her new home. She courageously follows her convictions and in the end has to painfully realize that freedom is not possible without the freedom of the word. The conversation with the widely read writer will be led by Ruth Fühner (hr2-kultur).
