The singer, poet and author was mainly on the road with her readings in recent years. During musical readings Ulla Meinecke made the experience that the audience really loves her songs. Because they are timeless. Because lyrically there are no quick fixes, compromises or fashionable gags with her.
Her current project with multi-instrumentalists Ingo York and Reinmar Henschke is called "Ulla Meinecke Band - Das Konzert 2016" and combines classics like "Feuer unterm Eis", "Die Tänzerin", "50 Tips ihn zu verlassen" with new, not yet released songs. For over 30 years, the Berliner-by-choice from Usingen has been a fixture in the German music and cultural landscape. Her velvety voice, her poetic language, not least her thoughtful-ironic view of everyday things establish her reputation as a singer.
