A play about the big questions of becoming and passing "This, for example, is the story of the baby bird, which on its first long outing flew against a window, broke its beak, fell to the ground and died." The children buried the little bird. And one, the youngest of them all, wondered, What will happen to the animal? A play begins for two actors, who sensitively and in hilarious argument tell different stories: of a whale and a giraffe, of a father afraid for his child, of trees being uprooted - and of a boy who once buried a baby bird, who eventually becomes an architect and designs kindergartens where no more birds should break their necks on the glass. Norwegian author Eirik Fauske spins a wonderfully philosophical train of thought with his play "Under the Kindergarten." That underneath this very real, present-day kindergarten lies a world of memories and experiences that we all carry within us, a kind of primordial memory that can be found again if only we dig hard enough. The Theaterhaus Ensemble developed the production in close collaboration with kindergartens in order to bring in the children's worldview and ideas and let them participate in the artistic process.
