Why not set up a small, fine stage in front of Centralstation? To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Upstairs will feature a colorful cross-section of the year's program - and on the stairs that normally lead visitors into Centralstation. These "stairs" will be filled with independent music, a slam and a family concert, and a DJ will be on hand to set the mood before Kool Savas. And best of all: Admission to all Upstairs events is free!
Truth be told: You read about futuristic sounds that have never existed in this form before almost every day. In the case of Berlin's Bluestaeb, however, this statement applies as rarely as it does. Leon Giseke started out as a pure boombap producer and within a few years quickly developed into a versatile, genre-breaking artist who seems to be reinventing hip-hop and everything that goes with it. In addition to collaborations with various vocal and instrumentalists, he underpins his songs with African drums, which he masters himself. In addition, he draws inspiration from other styles, which Bluestaeb cleverly incorporates into his work.
Somewhere between hip-hop, jazz and soul, his current, very own sound can be located, on which the Darmstadt rapper Döll recently also laid his raps. Now residing in Paris, the young musician is still driven by irrepressible joy of experimenting and playing, no two performances are alike.
