In sports, the string quartet would be called the "supreme discipline"; it is the most important formation in the world of chamber music. Countless great works can be found in the repertoire that has been created over the past 250 years or so. Even in the 20th century, when musical genres were questioned and began to dissolve, the intense conversation between the four string voices remained a central component of composition - enriched, of course, by modern rhythms and new forms. The "Vision String Quartet", founded as recently as 2012, seeks, as it were in a visionary way, the delightful contrast between tradition and renewal. The young musicians were selected by SWR for its three-year "New Talent" scholarship program because the jury was struck by their "strikingly individual approach and an aesthetic influenced by all musical genres of the 20th and 21st centuries": "a young generation of chamber musicians who openly and actively experiment with innovative concert formats as well."
