The Four Seasons op. 8
Max Richter
"Vivaldi: Recomposed"
There is probably no composition that has a higher degree of recognition than Antonio Vivaldi's dazzling "Four Seasons". The four violin concertos are omnipresent - in concert, in telephone waiting loops, in advertisements - and yet they have lost none of their festivity and fascination. With his arrangement "Vivaldi: Recomposed", the British composer Max Richter has caused a worldwide sensation. He transports the work into the present, yet remains full of respect for the original. Star violinist Daniel Hope is convinced by the arrangement: "I have enjoyed the project around one of the most sacred pieces in music history, this radical tour de force for a solo violinist, incredibly much. Max's arrangement has challenged my ear in a whole new way and at the same time given me a renewed appetite for the 'original Vivaldi.'"
