When it comes to eggs, most people first think of hens' eggs with white, brown or, at Easter time, brightly coloured shells and delicious contents. However, not only chickens lay eggs, but all of the approximately 10,000 bird species. And not only birds: turtles, lizards and platypuses also hatch their young from eggs. In general, almost all animal species lay eggs, but the majority are laid in water and have no shell or "classic egg shape". The variety of eggs and the advantages and disadvantages of the different egg types will be presented in the guided tour.
