With a keen sense of the American traditions of blues and rock, but an equally keen ear for what sounds timeless and modern, Welshly Arms have quickly earned a loyal fanbase around the world.
Lacing daring alternative rock together with spacey gospel sensibilities and a heart of blues, Sam Getz (lead vocals, guitar), Brett Lindemann (keyboards), Jimmy Weaver (bass), Mikey Gould (drums), and Bri and Jon Bryant (vocals) cook up 13 arena-ready anthems on their sophomore album, No Place Is Home (2018), inviting every listener to immediately sing along.
The Cleveland/Ohio sextet, who only released their debut album "Welshly Arms" in 2015, have shown plenty of courage for artistic grandstanding in the past, releasing a single in 2017, "Legendary," whose lyrics sounded like an anthemic ode to their own genius. Indeed, they managed to do the unexpected: "Legendary" gradually grew into a stunning global success, placing in the Top 10 in the U.S. as well as the Top 20 in many other nations, including Germany and Austria.
Since 2013, Welshly Arms have soon played every corner of this globe, accompanied by a bevy of seismic and show-stopping songs. "Legendary" swooped home to platinum status in Germany and Switzerland, cracked the mark of more than 75 million Spotify streams, reached over 2 million Shazam views, and climbed into the Top 15 at U.S. alternative radio. The band's tracks have been used in campaigns by Miller, Hulu, NFL, Indian Motorcycles and Beck's beer, while "Hold On I'm Coming" served as the background music for the trailer of Quentin Tarantino's Oscar-winning film The Hateful Eight. On top of that, they lit up the stage of "Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!" and received praise from Shuffle, Baeble, Cleveland.com and many others.
Welshly Arms are far more than just cleverly conceived retro epigones of the classic rock and soul of decades past. Rather, the surprisingly modern, dust-dry-to-the-point production of their new record proves that the so-called'signature sound' that helps most artists gain widespread recognition in the first place means neither a specific genre nor decade in their case. What matters is only one thing: that it always has enough soul to immediately touch music listeners' hearts all over the world. And it does so in every single note.
After a hugely successful last year in the wake of "No Place Is Home," the band has returned in early 2019 with current single "Learn To Let Go," which has already racked up a million and a half Spotify streams in the interim - continuing their tradition of great anthems. In November 2019, Welshly Arms will once again come to Germany on a club tour. Lyrics source and further information: https://batschkapp.tickets.de/de/tour/1002148-welshly_arms
