In the opinion of international critics, Sagmeister is without a doubt one of the world's best guitarists of his genre and is already considered a legend throughout Europe. This is impressively underlined by statements from colleagues such as Larry Coryell, pianist Lyle Mays and bassist Steve Rodby of the Pat Methyeny Group. Jazz guitar icon Pat Martino, with whom Sagmeister recorded the album Conversation, called him »simply tremendous«. His standard work, "Sagmeister's Jazz Guitar," is also one of the best-selling instructional books in the genre.
