Wolf Biermann like the ZentralQuartett have experienced the contempt for basic democratic values in a dictatorship, the terror of opinion and the poison of indoctrination for decades. With these experiences, they also address the young generation that has grown up in a united Europe.
Under the motto: "DEMOCRACY PARTY - DEMOCRATIC VOTE!" the artists are launching a campaign with a series of concerts before the Bundestag elections. They want to encourage a high voter turnout and call on people to vote only for truly democratic politicians in order to resist totalitarian and xenophobic tendencies. It is up to them to defend the courageous multi-ethnic vision of the conservative democrat Winston Churchill from 1948: The United States of Europe.
