Some people work for money. Others work to feel fulfilled. Some don't work at all. "Workshy" is the first major solo work by London-based performance artist and activist Katy Baird, and also her very unsparing autobiographical look back at more than twenty years working in the service industry. From small drug deals to oversized Whopper Meals, Katy Baird has always done everything she can to make people happy.
With unflinching humour and performative radicalism, she paints a ruthless portrait of the often invisible service worker and questions society's valuation of paid work. A show that leaves no one cold. Chaotic, rousing, loud, touchingly vulnerable and not entirely youth-free.
