In spring 2018, the German wrestling league "Westside Xtreme Wrestling" set superlatives. On three Ta-gen in a row, over 1,000 spectators were at the 16 Carat Gold in Oberhausen - the Turbinenhalle was completely sold out long in advance for Europe's largest wrestling festival. The Batschkapp in Frankfurt, the Markthalle in Hamburg, the Eventwerk in Dresden, The Dome in London - numerous popular and established halls sometimes ran out of tickets weeks before the event. Pro Wrestling is back and alive.
At the very forefront of development in Germany is wXw. Now with seven full-time employees, an office and its own wrestling school behind it, wXw launched "the German wrestling Netflix" in 2016. On wXwNOW, the in-house streaming service, over 1,250 hours of wXw material are available in German and English.
