The advance single of the new album of Berlin's I Heart Sharks is a first-class summer hit. "The Water" is the name of the track, which also gives the name to their new tour. Surf guitars rush like the surf of the Atlantic, the voices of Pierre Bee and Simon Wangeman sound cool and sugary sweet like an ice cream on the beach, the highly melodic chorus keeps blowing by like a gentle summer breeze. And then - well, and then the bottom opens up, then you pay attention to the gloomy lyrics, then the abysses break open, then the beautiful day at the beach flies around your ears - as in the ingenious video for the song, which you should definitely watch. If the rest of the new album "Hideaway" also manages this delightful balancing act between melodic pop and dark thoughts so well, I Heart Sharks will inspire many people with their new songs.
